Auto driver returns bag with Rs2.6L

Kanyakumari: An autorickshaw driver from Kanyakumari district was felicitated by police after he safely returned Rs2.67 lakh left behind by a passenger in his vehicle in a bag. The driver, Anwar Sadiq, was taking trips on Tuesday near Colachel bus stand when the passenger, identified as Helen, hailed his vehicle for a trip to Vaniyakudi. The woman, who was carrying Rs2.67 lakh in cash, left behind a bag with the money in the autorickshaw. On finding the bag, Sadiq contacted Colachel police and handed over the lost money. Police traced Helen and returned the cash to her. Kanyakumari SP R Stalin felicitated Anwar Sadiq for his honesty and integrity.
