has shared a touching memory of his late wife Helen McCrory with his children.

Helen died unexpectedly at the age 52 after a battle with cancer. The talented British actress, who starred as Peaky Blinders matriarch Aunt Polly and as Clair Dowar in the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall, died in April 2021.

Billions actor Damian, 53, who shared children Gulliver, 16, and daughter Manon, 18, with Helen, gave a glimpse into their lives together.

In a new chat with , he said: "My children aren't impressed by anything I do! But there was a time during Homeland where we were stuck in a traffic jam in front of this enormous billboard for the show.

"I ignored it, because Helen [McCrory, his late wife] and I tried to normalise what we did, but Gully, who was five, went: 'Dad, there's a huge picture of you on the wall!'"

Damian, who is currently promoting his and actress Kelly Macdonald's new Sky Cinema film The Radleys, has made a string of tributes to his late partner over the years.

In 2022, he posed alongside as he launched the McCrory Award in her memory. The award is designed to help cash-strapped young people with an aptitude for the arts fulfil their dreams in spite of financial woes.

Then in July 2023, in a lengthy tribute to her, he revealed that the actress called him and their two children to her bedside shortly before she died.

He wrote in The Sunday Times: "She said to us from her bed: ', lots of them.

"You must all love again, love isn't possessive." Sharing her wicked sense of humour, the actress added: "But you know, Damian, try at least to get through the funeral without snogging someone'."

For months, Damian was rarely seen outside of events he had arranged in Helen's memory while he candidly wrote his way through grief in a number of articles, tributes and reportedly creating his new album during this time too.

More than a year after his wife's death, Damian revealed he had followed her instructions and confirmed his relationship with Alison Mosshar.

Damian and the singer-songwriter, 45, have now been dating for two years, after they were first romantically linked in the summer of 2022.

Alison's mother, Vivian, told MailOnline soon after: "They have mutual friends. I don't know exactly how they met but I'm fine with it. If she's happy, we are happy...

"She's not an easy one to sum up. She's a complicated, beautiful lady, and very intelligent. She's so very talented in so many areas that it constantly surprises us. It amazes us, actually. We are very proud."

Alison has fronted rock band the Kills alongside Jamie Hince since 2001 and was also in The Dead Weather with Jack White. Last year, Damian shared his surprise career change to music and released his debut album in June 2023.

The Billions star recently said he felt a sense of comfort when he released the album, as it included lyrics about Helen.
