Carney Chukwuemeka's proposed move to Borussia Dortmund could be done "at any moment", it has been claimed. The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Signal Iduna Park and the Bundesliga club are keen on re-signing the Chelseamidfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.
Chukwuemeka made 17 appearances for Dortmund and played four times at the Club World Cup before his loan expired. He has since returned to Chelsea but is expected to move on again, this time on a permanent deal.
The former Aston Villa starlet started just once for Enzo Maresca's side during the first half of last season and has fallen down the pecking order, despite a bright opening to his Chelsea career. In total, Chukwuemeka has played 32 matches, scoring twice and adding one assist, in his three years in west London.

Now, Chukwuemeka is closing in on a permanent exit from the Blues. According to Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund are on the verge of sealing a summer move for the Austrian-born midfielder.
"Carney Chukwuemeka is getting closer to Borussia Dortmund, this deal could be done at any moment," . "Talks have accelerated between Chelsea and Dortmund.
"Chelsea sent a clear message to Dortmund to forget about a loan. Dortmund have been pushing for a loan since the start of July but Chelsea have been clear and told them it's a permanent or nothing.
"Chelsea spoke about Carney with Leipzig but the player wants to go and play for Borussia Dortmund. He has given priority to Borussia Dortmund. Now the agreement for Carney to go to Borussia Dortmund is getting closer. Agreement with the player is already done, personal terms agreed."

Chukwuemeka is expected to be one of several departures from Chelsea in the coming weeks. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is set to join Everton in a deal that could be worth £30m, Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu are Burnley-bound, Marc Guiu is anticipated to sign for Sunderland, while Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Tyrique George are among the others that have seen their long-term futures become uncertain.
The Blues are going to be boosted by these imminent sales as talks continue with Leipzig over a move for Xavi Simons. The Netherlands international has a broad agreement on personal terms with Chelsea, insiders close to negotiations told football.london, but the two clubs are yet to find common ground on a fee.
