Now, a friend who is reported to have found his body, has questioned why he wasn’t found sooner. His girlfriend had last seen Mr Flores on Sunday morning, and after filing the missing persons report was able to indicate a rough location he might be to detectives, based on conversations they had had prior to his departure.
He claims that he went looking for his friend himself, during which found Mr Flores’s bike abandoned around half a mile from where his body was eventually located.
He said that at this moment he “knew something wasn’t right,” and decided to head on to the business park. Here, he claimed he was met with a strange smell.
Speaking in video footage with the same outlet, he added: "From the parking lot you could smell that smell of something dead".
Mr Briones pointed out: "There's no way for them to not be able to smell that".
He is understood to have then climbed a ladder onto a roof, at which point he found the remains of his friend: "I saw some legs hanging out".
No official cause of death has been released at the time of writing, although that hasn’t stopped Mr Briones from speculating about what might have happened.
"I just don't know what the hell was going through his head at that time," he told the same outlet.
While he doesn’t know exactly what it was that killed Mr Flores, he has mourned the loss of a close friend – who Eyewitness reports he described as more of a brother at times.
Paying tribute to Mr Flores, Mr Briones referred to his kindness, saying: "I was living just across the street from him. Showed up, fixed my A/C right away. Didn't ask for anything. That was just my friend".
Despite the fond memories, Mr Briones said of the moment he found Mr Flores: "I still can't get the image out of my head".
The has contacted The Harris County Sheriff's Office for comment on the claims made by Mr Briones.
