US election 2024: Moo Deng predicts victory for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris

As voters take to the polls for the anticipated 2024 , has been predicted to be victorious - by a hippo.

Moo Deng, a beloved baby hippo in , has predicted the business mogul will once again return to the seat at the White House. The zoo animal made its prediction in a video posted on by Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi province.

In the clip posted on social media, Moo Deng is seen choosing between two watermelon cakes. Each offering had been covered with the the names of each presidential candidate, Trump and Vice President . And it was the food with Trump's name on that was the plate of choice for Moo Deng.

With the clip uploaded to /X, one user joked: "If Moo Deng thinks Trump’s got it, then who are we to argue? Cake and confidence, now that’s a winning combo!" Another added: "Smart hippo … so much winning."

A third mocked in the comments section: "See, it’s not that hard, people … even the hippo knows who’s better for America."

However, not everyone as impressed by the animal's choice. Others joked, the Moo Deng's choice had been misinterpreted. Some claimed she was trying to express the saying of 'eating the rich', and that's why she opted for the Trump food.

Trump had earlier said he is after he arrived to vote in Palm Beach along with his wife Melania. He joined as millions in America took to the queues to cast their ballots. Speaking to the media at the Florida polling station, the former president said: "I feel very confident, we went in with a very big lead today, we Republicans have shown up in force so we will see how it turns out."

With the exception of Alaska and Hawaii, all states have now begun voting. This includes the . It's not known whether Trump has been made aware of Moo Deng's prediction. The animal - whose name translates to 'Bouncy Pork' in Thai - became a sensation after being born in July this year. Social media users loved the animal's reaction to being bathed and the pygmy hippo soon was used as reaction memes thanks to her expressive face.

As her fame rises, the animal's caretakers are urging those coming to see the young animal to show restraint and have started to implement limitations on her visiting hours to just Saturday and Sunday.
