Battling unsightly stains on toilet seats can be a real domestic horror story. It turns out urine is often the villain, causing discolouration when it reacts with water and organic substances such as bacteria or fungi on the seat, lid, or within the bowl.
Then there's the common adversary – hard water stains or limescale, resulting from a build-up of calcium and other minerals that leave glaring marks.
Not to forget, bleach, the trusty germ slayer, which might sabotage efforts by leaving an undesired yellowish stain if used in high concentrations on plastic seats.
After a cleaning enthusiast tried various products to remove yellow stains from their toilet seat, they reached out for assistance on the Mr Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks group: "Help! My toilet seat is stained and I have tried so much to get it off but nothing has worked."
