West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has extended the last date of application for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Teacher. Earlier where the last date of application was fixed as July 14, now candidates can apply online till July 21, 2025. This recruitment is for Assistant Teachers of 9th-10th and 11th-12th class.

Recruitment will be done on more than 35 thousand posts

Qualification and selection process

To apply in this recruitment, candidates must have a B.Ed degree from a recognized university. Along with this, other educational qualifications have also been fixed by the commission, which are given in the detailed notification.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of a written test. A total of 60 multiple choice questions will be asked in this exam, which will be of 60 marks. The good thing is that there will be no negative marking in the exam, that is, no marks will be deducted for the wrong answer.

Fees and reservation

While applying, candidates of general, OBC and EWS category will have to pay Rs 500 and SC, ST and Divyang candidates will have to pay Rs 200 as application fee.

Age limit and relaxation

The minimum age of the candidates has been fixed at 21 years and maximum age at 40 years. However, reserved categories will get age relaxation as per rules. SC / ST category will get 5 years relaxation and OBC category will get 3 years and Divyang candidates will get 8 years relaxation.
