UIDAI Aadhaar Mobile Number Update: In today's era, the Aadhaar card is not just an identity card, but has become the key to your digital life. Whether it is to open a bank account, to take advantage of a government scheme, to pay income tax, or to get a SIM card, 'Aadhaar' is necessary everywhere. And the biggest strength of this Aadhaar is your mobile number linked to it, on which all the work is possible only with the OTP (One Time Password) that comes. But imagine, what if that number of yours is closed, lost, or you have taken a new number? Let us tell you the way by which you can update your mobile number in Aadhaar in a jiffy without standing in long queues.
Many people think that to change the mobile number in Aadhaar, one has to stand in long queues for hours, and that is why they keep postponing this important work. At the same time, some people also think that this work can be done completely online from home. Today, we will clear both these misconceptions of yours and tell you the easiest and fastest way by which your work will be done in a jiffy.
How to update the mobile number in Aadhaar?
First of all, let us tell you that the mobile number in the Aadhaar card is not updated completely online. For this, you have to go to the center and get your biometrics updated. However, the good thing is that for this, you can take an online appointment, which will get you rid of the long line.
How to get an appointment from home: Step-by-step process
All you have to do is book an appointment to go to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra from home. This will give you the time and date of your convenience, and after going there, your work will be done directly at the counter.
Step 1:
First of all, open the official website of UIDAI on your phone or laptop. Search myAadhaar on Google or go directly to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
Step 2:
On the homepage of the website, you will see an option for "Book an Appointment" in the "Get Aadhaar" section. Click on it.
Step 3:
Now a new page will open in front of you. Here you have to select the name of your city. Select your city and click on "Proceed to Book Appointment".
Step 4:
On the next page, you have to select the option of "Aadhaar Update". Here, enter your mobile number on which you want to receive appointment information (this can be any of your current numbers; it is not necessary that it should be the one you want to link). After this, enter the captcha code and click on "Generate OTP".
Step 5:
An OTP will come on your given number, enter it and click on "Verify OTP".
Step 6:
Now you will be asked for your Aadhaar details. Enter your Aadhaar number and the name written on the Aadhaar correctly. After this, tick the option of "Mobile Number" in the "What do you want to update?" section and click on "Proceed".
Step 7:
Now the calendar for booking an appointment will open in front of you. Here you can choose the date and time of your choice. The slots that appear in green are vacant. Choose your preferred slot.
Step 8:
As soon as you confirm the slot, your appointment slip will be generated. You can download it or take a screenshot of it. This slip will contain the date, time and address of your appointment center.
