New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi on Monday accused the Congress of "playing cheap politics" over the death of a Kerala-based IT professional.
Identified as Annandua Aji, the techie was reportedly found dead in Thiruvananthapuram earlier in a suspected case of suicide.
Trivedi said the Congress was trying to malign the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and demanded a free and fair investigation into the incident.
"As sad as this incident is, it is equally unfortunate that Congress is playing cheap politics on it and maligning the RSS... All this is in keeping with the old habit of the Congress Party and is also a result of the frustration stemming from continuous political failure..." he said.
Calling for an impartial probe, Trivedi added, "...We strongly demand that there should be an in-depth inquiry and a free and fair inquiry at the earliest on this suspicious incident so that the wheel of suspicion which has been looming over it should be totally unveiled and the picture should clear."
Condemning the Congress for what he termed as a deliberate attempt to defame the RSS, Trivedi said, "This incident is very unfortunate and painful, but more painful is the dastardly politics that the Congress party is trying to do to malign the image of RSS. Congress is doing so because of its habit and its perpetual thought process against the RSS ideology of Hindutva...We totally condemn this, condemn the mindset of the Congress party and again we strongly demand that the inquiry should be conducted in a free and fair manner at the earliest."
Earlier, Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the RSS had sought a thorough investigation into Aji's death and would issue a statement soon.
"RSS is also demanding an investigation; it is their view that there is a deep conspiracy behind this to defame the RSS. They will issue a clear statement on this issue very soon... They have said there is a conspiracy; the person was not well...," Chandrasekhar told reporters. (ANI)
