Luka Modric bids goodbye to Real Madrid fans
Luka Modric brought down the curtain on an extraordinary 13-year spell at Real Madrid. The 39 year old midfielder was named captain for the night, Modric received a hero’s sendoff when he was substituted late in the game. Players from both teams lined up to give him a guard of honor, and the stadium erupted in chants of his name.

“The moment I didn’t want to come has arrived,” Modric said, visibly moved. “But what a beautiful journey it has been.”
After hugging his children and wife at the sideline, Modric shared a long embrace with Toni Kroos, his longtime midfield partner, who had exited the club the previous season. Together, the pair had formed one of the most dominant midfield duos in modern football.

Modric, who is set to participate in the Club World Cup next month before departing officially, leaves the Spanish capital with 28 titles making him the most decorated player in club history. His trophy cabinet includes six Champions League titles, six Club World Cups, five European Super Cups, four La Liga championships, two Copas del Rey, and five Spanish Super Cups.
With 591 appearances, Modric ranks eighth in Real Madrid’s all-time appearance list, contributing 43 goals and countless moments of brilliance. A video tribute featuring some of those unforgettable moments played on the stadium’s big screen as fans, teammates, and family members watched on.
Carlo Ancelotti gets emotional on his final game at Bernabeau
For Ancelotti, 65, the match marked the end of his illustrious tenure at the helm of Los Blancos. The Italian tactician is now set to take over as Brazil’s head coach, departing the club after a total of 15 trophies across two spells.
Ancelotti admitted during a post-match ceremony“You don’t feel this kind of emotion even when you win a Champions League. I leave satisfied, proud, and honored to have been part of this family. From day one, I wanted to enter the club’s history and I believe I’ve done that.”

Ancelotti's second spell in charge, which began in 2021, added two more Champions League titles and domestic trophies to his already impressive haul. Across both stints, he managed over 350 games and registered 250 victories.
