Rewa (Madhya Pradesh): A woman lost her life and two others were seriously injured after a man, seeking revenge, rammed his bike into a group of women in Rewa on Friday.
The victim’s brother said that the accused had a fight with him on Thursday night.
The accident took place as an act of revenge in Pahariya village, under the Raipur Karchuliyan area.
According to information, the incident took place late Thursday night. The accused, Ajay Pal, reportedly attacked the crowd following a personal dispute with the Pal family.
After the attack, he lost control of his bike and crashed into a road divider, sustaining serious injuries himself.
The woman killed in the incident has been identified as Shyamkali Pal. Her granddaughter, Rachna, and another woman named Sunita were seriously injured and are currently being treated at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital.
Doctors say their condition is stable.
According to the victim’s son, Alok Kumar Pal, tensions began on May 14 during a pre-wedding ceremony at their home.
A theft was suspected, and the family filed a complaint against some local men. “After we filed the FIR, the accused attacked us again. Ajay drove his bike straight into my mother and other family members,” he said.
Police have deployed heavy force in the area, led by DSP Himali Pathak, to prevent further unrest. Investigations are ongoing.
