Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): A violent clash erupted when a group attempted to force a girl to marry a harasser in Sesai Sadak village on Saturday night.
The situation escalated when the girl’s father was shot when he tried to intervene and save his daughter. As per reports, accused Rocky had been persistently harassing the girl and pressuring her to marry him.
On the night of the incident, Rocky's father Lohre, along with their accomplices Jodha Sarkar and Pitu alias Gurpreet, reached the girl’s house armed with weapons and attempted to forcibly take her with them.
In response to the girl’s family's protests, the assailants fired approximately six rounds, injuring the girl's father when a bullet grazed his finger. Hearing gunshot, people from Yadav and Rawat communities of the village reached the spot and the accused fled the scene brandishing their guns.
Kolaras Police registered a case against Lohre, Jodha Sarkar and Pitu and launched an investigation. The girl's family and villagers reached Kolaras police station where police station in-charge Ravi Chauhan said that a case has been registered against the three accused. To ensure safety of family members, a guard was assigned by the police to maintain vigil at their house.
