Mumbai: The iconic Elphinstone Bridge, connecting Parel and Prabhadevi in an east-west corridor, is set to be demolished. In its place, a new Elphinstone Bridge, along with the Shivdi-Worli Elevated Connector, will be constructed. As part of the work, traffic diversions will come into effect starting 9 PM on April 25, 2025, as per a directive issued by DCP (Traffic) Samadhan Pawar.
Diversion Routes for Vehicles
For vehicles traveling East to West:
Use Tilak Bridge to reach Dadar West and Dadar Market.

For Prabhadevi and Lower Parel, use Curry Road Bridge from 7 AM to 3 PM.
For Coastal Road and Sea Link, use Chinchpokli Bridge.
For vehicles traveling West to East:
Use Tilak Bridge to reach Dadar East.
Vehicles heading toward Tata and KEM Hospitals must use Curry Road Bridge between 3 PM and 11 PM.
For traffic from Prabhadevi and Worli, use the Chinchpokli Bridge.
Additionally, Mahadev Palav Marg (Curry Road Railway Bridge) will operate as a one-way route from 7 AM to 3 PM, and as a two-way route from 11 PM to 7 AM.
No-Parking Zones
No-parking orders will be enforced on multiple roads including Senapati Bapat Marg and N.M. Joshi Marg.
Emergency Measures
To ensure medical emergencies are handled smoothly, two ambulances will be stationed near Parel and Prabhadevi railway stations. This official order was released on April 23, 2025.
