Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A video is going viral on social media where a a youth Congress leader can be seen firing gun shots in air. The video is said to be from Jabalpur, where Congress leader Assu Khan allegedly fired gun shots in air as part of birthday celebration of brother of former MP Minister.
Notably, a birthday party was organised on Thursday night for Jai Ghanghoria— brother of former MP minister and Congress MLA Lakhan Ghanghoria. Congress youth leaders and workers were also invited. One of them, Assu Khan, picked up a gun and fired back-to-back shots in air, in a reckless display of celebration.

Locals demanding action
As Khan fired shots in the air, several passersby gathered there, trying to understand what was happening. The incident draw flak from the crowd and netizens as a single miss of shot might have led to a major accident.
After the video went viral, local residents demanded strict police action against those involved in the incident.
Celebratory firing lands 4 youth in jail
Similar incident was seen earlier this month on April 10, 2025 in Bhopal, when four youths fired gunshots late at night to celebrate the birthday of their friend, which landed those four youths in jail.
Locals panicked after hearing gunshots and called up police late night. Police registered an FIR on the complaint of a security guard of an apartment.
Ayodhya Nagar police arrested them and also seized the gun and their luxury SUV.
