She added, "So sensitively attuned and emotionally intelligent, she seemed almost human at times."
Supporters flocked to comfort her, with one posting, "So sorry, Luxmy. You played such a large role in the family. Sending love."
Another added, "Sending you the biggest hugs, lovely. " A third social media user commented, "RIP Athena. They leave a massive hole in our lives when they leave, but leave us with the best memories," The Express reports.
Someone else added, "Our condolences. Dogs are family, and their loss can be devastating. Sending our thoughts."
The post featured a collection of adorable photos of Luxmy with her treasured pup, capturing Athena giving her face a lick and enjoying woodland strolls.
Luxmy frequently posted pictures alongside Athena on her social media accounts, along with her Maine Coon cat Cosmo.

In May 2025, she travelled to Nice for her birthday celebrations, posting lovely images of herself by the seaside in a summer dress.
Luxmy captioned at the time: "Salut! On a little birthday jaunt to Nice. I'll try to bring some of the warm sunshine back to you."
She expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you for the lovely birthday messages! It's been therapeutic being by the sea. Now back to reality."
