Jude Bellingham has been left out of England's squad to face Wales and Latvia. Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel has not included the Real Madrid star despite him returning to fitness and also his team's Champions League starting line-up.
It also comes just two days after Bellingham was named as England's fans' player of the year and must be seen as significant despite him clearly coming from an injury lay-off. There has been tension since Tuchel said back in June that his own mother finds some of Bellingham's on-pitch behaviour as "repulsive.'
There was also no place for Phil Foden or Jack Grealish but there is a return for fit-again Bukayo Saka.

Bellingham went under the knife this summer to fix a shoulder issue but England did not miss their star man during the last round of international fixtures, which saw them record a statement 5-0 win away at Serbia.
And Tuchel admitted that the performances of individuals picked in his last squad heavily influenced him when it came to deciding who got the nod for games with Wales and Latvia. “It was only three weeks now since the last camp and the last win, last performance,” he said.
“The result was an excellent result and even more important, it was well deserved from our performance, so we decided very quickly that we want to reward and everyone and bring the same group back into camp.
“Teamwork and team spirit and team effort was on the highest level throughout the week. I was so glad that the team proved it in the match.
“We had a big win against a strong opponent in a difficult away match, so the question was why not bring the same group in because they set the standards?”
