Nothing says “must-have” quite like a royal stamp of approval, and considering has been photographed wearing multiple pieces from Fairfax & Favor over the years, it’s safe to say she’s a fan. So as soon as its new spring arrivals landed I knew I had to get my hands on one of the most anticipated launches from the brand – the .
It promised to be cosy, soft and the perfect layering piece – everything you need for your spring wardrobe. The comes in both ecru and khaki, and I picked the khaki green shade as it felt it could be worn with so many things in my wardrobe, would work for several occasions – and would be easier to keep clean.

The is priced at £145 and has several of Fairfax & Favor’s elevated finishing touches, including tonal bindings, zipped chest and hand pockets, and subtle Fairfax & Favor branding on the back. Unlike other fleeces which can be a bit shapeless, this one has a subtle bit of definition at the waist which makes it more flattering and look more sophisticated.
One of the first things that struck me the second I unboxed it was just how soft it is. It’s so , I was making anyone I spoke to feel it, and they all agreed it felt incredible.

The is made from sherpa fleece, which has been double faced to make sure it keeps you warm without the added bulk of a lining. The zipped pockets are really handy, as it keeps your belongings safe and protected from the elements, and it was deceptively warm without feeling too heavy or chunky.
For me, this is the when it’s too warm to wear a coat, but not quite warm enough to be jacket free. It’s also thin enough that you could wear an additional jacket over the top when it’s freezing in mid winter.
I usually take a size 14 in most clothes, and opted for a size large in this. Whilst it fit me comfortably with enough room for a jumper underneath, if you prefer a more obviously oversized look I would recommend taking a size up
Although it’s only just launched on the , it’s already racked up a very impressive 4.9 star rating. “Excellent fit and quality. Goes with most things,” said one reviewer, whilst another agreed: “Looks amazing, fits beautifully and extremely warm and cosy.”
Another shared: “I bought the fleece for going to cattle market or walking dog for warmth, Omg it's , not bulky or heavy, it's lovely just perfect for what l needed.”
The only non-five star review rated it four stars, saying: “Love it wish it was a wee bit longer over my bum and has thumb holes.”
I would agree that for me personally, I would have preferred maybe an extra inch or two in the length, as I found it stopped a little awkwardly between my hips and bum, which is my widest point. However the softness and how cosy it is definitely makes up for it.
If you want to get your hands on another countryside icon, the is a great alternative. Priced at £170, it’s the perfect layering piece that can be worn on its own or with other jackets and coats when it’s chilly.
If you want to go bolder with your colour choices, is fantastic. From bright colours to dramatic prints (and plenty of neutrals too), there’s all kinds of lengths, fits and designs that’ll keep you warm whilst looking cool.
