US President Donald Trump's top team say they are 'continuing the hunt for the truth' as one of his leading aides says she believes aliens do actually exist.
America's Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who serves as the 79-year-old's principal advisor, says that she believes extraterrestrial civilisations could be real, months after the Joe Biden administration sought to dispel concerns about possible sightings.
Asked on Miranda Devine’s Pod Force One, a New York Post podcast, whether "there could be aliens," she started answering by saying: "I have my own views and opinions" but added "in this role, I have to be careful with what I share." She was then pressed by the host. It comes after Donald Trump was seen with a mystery mark in Scotland after his chronic health diagnosis.

Ms Gabbard replied: "Yes" before saying her team will be transparent with the world when the time comes, adding, "We’re continuing to look for the truth and share that truth with the American people." Later in the show, she stressed that she still has "a lot of questions" about the mysterious drone sightings over New Jersey in 2024.
Last year, Mr Trump touched on the US's decades-long fascination with unidentified flying objects. The country's government has, in recent years, released footage capturing fast-moving objects above its national territory, and has faced calls to continue doing so. He told interviewer Lex Fridman that he would happily release the footage, two months before he was re-elected.
Mr Trump has spoken about UFOs before in another podcast appearance, telling former YouTuber Logan Paul that while there "could be" life on other planets, he wasn't "a believer". He was asked whether he believed that unidentified anomalous phenomena UAPs - another word for UFOs - could, in fact, be aliens making their way to Earth.
He said: "Am I a believer? No, I probably I can’t say I am. But I have met with people that are serious people that say there’s some really strange things that they see flying around out there." It has been claimed his second presidency could have “seismic” implications for UFO disclosure which could prove the US government has had contact with extraterrestrial civilisations.
That is the view of Nick Pope who, for many years, was in charge of analysing UFO reports for the Ministry of Defence. He told the Mirror the victory could be an absolutely game-changing event when it comes to alien phenomena: “Trump's victory may have seismic implications for Disclosure,” he said after his second term was confirmed.
“It's the perfect storm: a maverick, populist President in his second term, and – thus – not up for re-election. For those in the UFO community who believe there's been a decades-long conspiracy to cover up the truth about an alien presence, Trump in his second term offers the best-ever hope for pushing back against the Deep State and delivering Disclosure.”
But Simon Holland – another filmmaker who has established himself as a major figure within the UFO community – is less sure that a second Trump White House stay will have any impact on the long-awaited Disclosure. He told us that: “UFO disclosure will never happen.”
He explains: “Why would the very folk who invented the term 'Top Secret' reveal anything, that might be a military advantage? We need confirmation' from independent and international science, to prove we are not alone in the universe.”
He adds that new quantum communication equipment could be retrofitted to our existing radio telescopes, because ET might have mastered “instant” long distance communication.
