Trinbago Knight Riders have once again proven their dominance in the Caribbean Premier League, defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2025 final to claim their fifth CPL title. With victories in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020, and now 2025, Trinbago Knight Riders have further cemented their status as the most successful team in CPL history. This was their sixth appearance in a final, winning five times.
On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors continue to face heartbreak in finals. Playing their eighth CPL final, they were unable to secure the trophy for the seventh time, having won only once in their history.
In the final, Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 130/8 in their 20 overs. Pakistan’s Iftikhar Ahmed top-scored with 30 runs, while Saurabh Netravalkar starred for Trinbago Knight Riders with three wickets.
The match also witnessed a historic moment for Kieron Pollard, who set a new world record in T20 cricket. During Guyana’s innings, Pollard took four catches, with his third catch marking his 400th in T20 cricket—making him the first player in the world to reach 400 catches in the format.
Chasing 131 to win, Trinbago Knight Riders reached 133/7 in 18 overs, sealing the title with two overs to spare. The victory not only highlighted their batting depth but also added another chapter to their legacy in CPL history.
