Haris Rauf first made the '6-0' gesture and then made a falling plane gesture with his hand, which Indian fans found highly offensive.
Team India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in a high-voltage Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025. This marked India's second consecutive victory in the Asia Cup. However, a shameful on-field action by Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf became a topic of discussion. While fielding near the boundary line during the match, Rauf made a provocative gesture towards Indian fans, a video of which is rapidly going viral on social media.

Haris Rauf first made a "6-0" gesture and then made a hand gesture that resembled a downed plane. Indian fans are finding this gesture highly offensive, as it is being linked to Pakistan's alleged claim that it shot down six Indian fighter jets during the military conflict.
Kohli chants provoked Rauf.
During the match, Haris Rauf faced chants of "Virat Kohli... Virat Kohli" from the Indian crowd while fielding on the boundary. The fans were reminding him of the T20 World Cup 2022, when Kohli had turned the match around by hitting two consecutive sixes in Rauf's over. Meanwhile, Rauf made provocative gestures, further heating up the atmosphere.

Rauf's subsequent downward movement
was extremely provocative. The Pakistani fast bowler gestured "6-0" to the fans, alluding to Pakistan's unsubstantiated claim that they shot down six Indian fighter jets during Operation Sindoor. Following the "6-0" gesture, Rauf also imitated the downing of the planes with hand gestures. Rauf was also severely thrashed by Abhishek and Shubman. Irritated by their brilliant batting, Harris even confronted Abhishek, but Abhishek responded with a stellar response.

'6-0' slogans were heard even in the practice session
This controversy had started a day before the match. During the Pakistan team's training session at the ICC Academy in Dubai, players were seen shouting '6-0, 6-0'. Although at that time it was taken as a joke and linked to the score of the game, but now the gesture done during the match has raised questions on it. However, Indians are also making memes on his actions. A fan wrote, 'How many wars have Pakistan won against India?' In this, the fan has posted a picture of Harris scoring zero.

Have you ever seen any player in any sport in this world doing such antics ?
When your #HarisRauf upbringing is such & cultureless, illiterate, unclassy , what can be expected? @TheRealPCBMedia@TheRealPCB @ICC @BCCI pic.twitter.com/YPiDegbfHi
Pakistan's double standard?
Pakistan and many of its former cricketers repeatedly say that politics and sports should be kept separate, but such controversial gestures on the field raise questions about the attitude of their players. Indian fans are saying on social media that this is against the spirit of the game. This controversy may escalate further as fans and cricket experts are criticizing Haris Rauf's action on social media. Many are also demanding action from the ICC on this.
Farhan's celebration also created a ruckus.
After completing his fourth half-century in T20 International, 29-year-old batsman Sahibzada Farhan celebrated controversially against India. He waved his bat in the air and made a gun gesture, i.e., gunfire celebration. The video of Farhan's celebration is going viral on social media.
Pakistani cricketer Sahibzada Farhan mimicked an AK-47 with his bat during a match against India. This isn’t just a gesture — it reflects a deeper problem.

India defeated Pakistan for the second consecutive time.
While the controversy loomed off the field, the Indian team once again performed brilliantly and defeated Pakistan. Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, India chased down the target of 172 runs with six wickets in hand.
