Ramanand Sagar's TV show Ramayan was released in 1987. In this show, Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhalia and Sunil Lahiri were seen in the lead roles as Shri Ram, Mata Sita and Laxman. Along with this, many other actors also played lead roles.
In this show, an actor named Aslam Khan played not one but 11 different characters. Through these characters, Aslam Khan made a name in every household.
Initially, the actor got the role of Saint Eknath Maharaj. Later he got the role of Nishadraj's commander, villager and many such roles. Along with this, he was also seen in the role of Samudra Dev.
However, he was not selected for this role initially. The person who was supposed to play the role of Samudra Dev did not come that day. After waiting for a long time, the cameraman advised Ramanand Sagar to cast an actor and Aslam Khan was cast.
Vijay Kavish was the one who got Aslam introduced in Ramayan. He played the role of Shiva and Valmiki in this show. On seeing Aslam, Ramanand Sagar chose him for the role of Sadhu and then gradually he kept getting many different roles.
Apart from Ramayan, the actor has also worked with Sagar in the serial Shri Krishna. In this show, his acting in the scene where he tells the truth to Karna was so tremendous that Ramanand Sagar cried after seeing it.
Along with Ramayan and Shri Krishna, Aslam Khan worked in many hit serials. But in 2002, he left acting and turned to the business world and now lives with his family in Jhansi.
