This festive season, travelers between Delhi and Patna will have a new and efficient travel option with the launch of India’s longest Vande Bharat Express. This high-speed train will cover the 994 km distance between the two cities in just 11.5 hours, providing a seamless travel experience for those heading home to celebrate Diwali and Chhath Puja.
The special train service will begin operations on October 30, 2024, just in time for the Diwali festivities, ensuring timely travel for passengers.
Key Details About the Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Train
Currently, the longest Vande Bharat route is the New Delhi-Varanasi line, which covers 771 km. However, the new service, designated as train number 002252, will break that record.
After its inaugural run on October 30, the train will operate from Delhi to Patna on November 1, 3, and 6. It will return from Patna to Delhi on November 2, 4, and 7, 2024. Notably, this year’s Chhath Puja falls on November 7, coinciding with the train's return journey.
The express train will make stops at key stations, including Kanpur, Prayagraj, Buxar, and Arrah.
Ticket prices for the AC Chair Car are set at INR 2,575, while the AC Executive Chair Car will cost INR 4,655, which includes additional amenities such as tea, breakfast, and dinner.
Reports suggest that a Vande Bharat Sleeper train may also be launched soon, adding to the growing network of high-speed rail services in India.
