viewers issued a demand to soap bosses after Joe Tate (played by Ned Porteous) blackmailed his brother, Noah Dingle (Jack Downham). Joe is currently recovering in hospital after being pushed out of a window at Home Farm. Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), who was having an affair with Joe, confessed to the crime, revealing she pushed him after finding out that he threatened her daughter.
Despite this, Joe admitted he's still in love with Dawn and has gone to great lengths to protect her, going as far as putting his half-brother Noah in the firing line. During Friday's (May 16) instalment of the ITV soap, Joe said he would tell the police that Noah pushed him out of the window if he didn't retract his statement about the limo crash.
Fans will remember that Joe accidentally caused the crash after drugging Noah in a plot to steal his kidney.
One of the limo's swerved as a disorientated Noah stepped out into the road and crashed, resulting in the deaths of Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson).
Noah eventually agreed, but told Joe it would cost him and took his money. In the Woolpack, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) was devastated upon learning that his mum won't get justice as Joe will walk free.
(Emma Atkins) was disgusted when she learned Noah took Joe's money, declaring that her son is a "Tate".

The plot left fans less than intrigued and flocked to social media to demand bosses scrap the storyline.
One wrote: "This storyline with Mr Dubai is so boring! It should've ended with him being dead!"
"Stop this Joe storyline," another fumed. "It is absolutely banal."
Others called for Joe to be killed off, with another chiming in: "Somebody, anybody, please please finish Joe off!!!!"
Another pondered: "Can he be pushed again but properly this time?"
A fifth echoed: "Someone needs to finish the job and kill Joe.."
