Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) knows that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) is the person who murdered his son, Emmerdale fans have claimed. John has been hiding the fact that he murdered Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and believed he had successfully pinned the crime on Owen Michaels (Simon Haines). However, during Monday (August 18) night's episode, Cain was informed by police that there had been new developments in Nate's case. Afterwards, Cain approached John and revealed what he'd been told by the police.
"Just had a visit from DC Cole. He's not convinced this Owen guy killed Nate," Cain said. A baffled John couldn't hide his confusion as he pointed out the police had a confession. When Cain explained new evidence had come to light, a shaken John responded: "It was definitely Owen but I guess proving it must be hard."
An unconvinced Cain declared: "Yeah or whoever did this is still out there," before walking away.
The interaction left fans confused as to why Cain would tell John this information, leading many to speculate that Cain is aware he has been in the presence of Nate's real killer.
Taking to X, one wrote: "Wonder if Cain knows more than he's letting on, why would the first person he tells be John..."
"Cain knows for suuuure!," added a second as a third agreed: "Cain knows what we know."
Another echoed: "I think Cain knows deep down that it's John that killed Nate!" Someone else said: "I can't wait until Cain nails John, and Aaron lets him. Today's little snippet of Cain proves he's on to John."

Cain's conversation with John prevented him from walking into Victoria Sugden's (Isabel Hodgins) house, where unbeknownst to him, his husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was in bed with his half-brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).
John has been attempting to drive a wedge between Robert and those closest to him, but his plan backfired after Aaron rushed to comfort his ex-husband. In the midst of a breakdown, Robert began smashing up his room before Aaron managed to calm him down.
Aaron confessed he had been keeping away from Robert because he knew what would happen if they got too close. The two shared a kiss before things escalated, and they ended up sleeping together.
But the former couple were unaware that Aaron had accidentally called John. Has John heard everything and how will he react if he learns his husband has cheated on him?
