Europe's very own 'Niagara falls' with cheap flights and hardly any tourists

Every year, millions flock to see the breathtaking , one of America's most famous natural landmarks. But did you know that there is a site in Europe where you can enjoy a similar experience?

According to US News, has been hailed as the country that flies under most travellers' radars and is one of the best underrated spots around. The Balkan country is a treasure trove of natural delights and stunning scenes - however most travellers flock to its neighbouring country, Croatia.

Montenegro has far less and crowds despite being home to dramatic mountains, majestic lakes and enchanting forests. Best of all, Montenegro has its very own Niagara Falls, the Cijevna waterfall which offers breathtaking views of cascading waters.

The Cijevna waterfall is only a ten-minute drive from Podgorica and is known locally as the Montenegrin Niagara Falls.

But it's not all waterfalls in Montenegro as the region is also dripping in rich history that's been inhabited by various people including Romans and Byzantines.

Found in southeastern Europe along the Adriatic Sea, Montenegro is surprisingly still relatively unknown, though it's fast becoming a popular destination offering some of the best beaches in the world.

Montenegro's beaches are highly acclaimed, offering a pristine coastline with a whopping 117 beaches.

These beaches offer seclusion and are all perfectly framed with diverse landscapes and dramatic cliffs.

The perfectly-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea provide ideal opportunities for outdoor activities including snorkeling, swimming, snorkeling and many others.

Must-visit spots when visiting this underrated country include the city of Kotor, which is described as being a smaller version of Dubrovnik, except you guessed it, with far fewer tourists. It includes the -listed Bay of Kotor with exquisite Baroque architecture to marvel at.

July and August are the hottest months in Montenegro, reaching as high as 28C with flights in June coming in as low as £31, according to .
