Gamescom ONL 2025 stream - Date, time and what to expect from Opening Night Live

PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 fans are about to be treated to a host of new game announcements and gameplay reveals as part of the imminent Gamescom Opening Night Live event for 2025.

The Gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL) event takes place at 7pm BST UK time on the evening of August 19.

Expected to run for a couple of hours, the event will be streamed live on YouTube. You can watch the stream live by clicking on the YouTube embed below.

In terms of what fans can expect, the event will feature a gameplay reveal for Call of Duty Black Ops 7.

Developed by Raven Software and Treyarch, Black Ops 7 is set 40 years after last year's Black Ops 6.

The futuristic setting should result in some interesting new weapons and items to play around with in single-player and multiplayer.

Host Geoff Keighley has also confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will make an appearance during the event. Can we also expect a demo?

Upcoming PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Yotei will also be shown during the event, alongside Ninja Gaiden 4, The Outer Worlds 2, Silent Hill f and World of Warcraft: Midnight.

The ONL event will also feature footage from Season 2 of the Fallout TV show.

That's on top of a live performance from hit role-playing game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Needless to say, the event will feature one or two surprise announcements. Maybe Hollow Knight Silksong's release date will be announced, or perhaps that long-rumoured Bloodborne remaster. One can only hope.

The event takes place just a few hours after the latest Nintendo Direct, which focuses on upcoming Switch 2 game Kirby Air Riders.
