Spandau Ballet legend Martin Kemp has made the astonishing claim that a mysterious inner voice saved him from a potentially fatal accident when he was just a youngster. Reflecting on his past, the 80s icon shared the eerie experience from his childhood days.

The musician, now 63, recounted: "I must have been about 12 years old, and I was walking to school. I came out my front door and stopped by a roadside."

He continued with the bizarre tale: "As I stopped, I heard a voice in my head, like somebody talking to me, not a thought, literally a voice, and it said, 'Go back inside the house'. Without hesitation,".

Kemp added, "I turned round and started walking back up the pathway, and as I walked back up, a car came down the road and smashed into the two cars I was standing in between."

He concluded with a challenge to the sceptics: "That's a fact. It's [up to you] whether you believe me saying that about the voice!", reports .

However, Kemp wasn't always so fortunate with otherworldly interventions. Recounting an embarrassing encounter with music legend David Bowie, the former EastEnders star admitted to making quite the blunder.

He winced at the memory: "I thought, I've got to go over and shake his hand. But it was the end of the night, so I was a little bit worse for wear."

Describing his less-than-graceful moment, he said: "As I shook his hand, I started to do the sideways crab. I fell over and landed up against the wall. He just looked down at me and tutted."

In a lighter note, Martin Kemp and his wife Shirlie, known for her time with Wham!, have teamed up with easyJet holidays to promote the company's new Rekindle The Romance package.
