Meghan Markle has shared a post on her Instagram story to mark her mum Doria Ragland's birthday. The 44-year-old took to her Instagram story to share a 'boomerang' video of herself kissing her mum on the cheek.
The post, which included a beaming Doria, was captioned with, "Happy Birthday to my beautiful mom! [pink-heart emoji]." The post also included a gif of pink hearts covering the screen. As well as having a special bond with her grandchildren, Doria is known to share a close relationship with Meghan. The 69-year-old is also thought to be very "close" with Prince Harry.
It was reportedly in early 2024 that Doria has practically moved into the Sussexes' Montecito mansion and that she was rarely spending much time at her own home.
It was reported that Doria was spending a lot of time at Harry and Meghan's home to help the couple through "tough times" and to avoid a nearly three-hour car journey from her home in View Park-Windsor Hills in Los Angeles.
Speaking at the start of 2024, a source told the Express: "2023 was a tough year for both Harry and Meghan and Doria has been there for them.
"Doria looks fighting fit but she's nearly 70 and gets tired of the car rides from her home to see her daughter and grandchildren. It takes nearly three hours to drive one way, so it made sense for her to move into the guesthouse. She now spends more time there than in her own house."
Discussing her bond with her son-in-law, the source added: "Harry adores her as well and loves having her there.
"There are times when he needs alone time, so Doria heads over to the guesthouse to make herself scarce when needed."
Although she has a close relationship with her mum, Meghan is estranged from her dad Thomas Markle - as well as her two half-siblings, Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle Jr.
