Despite the conviction, he stated that Salman was not even in the car when the animal, considered sacred by the Bishnoi community, was killed.“He doesn’t have the habit of killing animals. He loves them. He doesn’t even kill a cockroach,” Salim said while talking about his son's kindness. He added: “Apologizing would mean admitting guilt. Salman has never harmed any animal, and we’ve never even used a gun. So why should he say sorry?” This has left the Bishnoi community furious.
