Bhubaneswar: IIT Bhubaneswar will soon offer an advanced certificate programme on electric vehicle (EV) technology.

The nine-month-long course targets professionals and graduates seeking advanced expertise in EV design, focusing on motors, controllers and battery engineering. The curriculum covers energy storage, charging networks, supply chains and sustainability. Delivered through a blend of live sessions, self-paced modules, hands-on laboratory work and industrial visits, it prepares learners for careers in e-mobility and energy storage, official sources said on Friday. Soobhankar Pati, CEO of IIT Bhubaneswar’s Research and Entrepreneurship Park (REP), said they will deliver the course digitally.

“An interaction session will be organised for the students. During the course, they will have to physically attend practical/laboratory classes on two occasions (16-day session and 21-day session),” he added.

Pati said students can get internships at the institute. “As we have several startup companies, they can get hands-on training from them. This course is for those having a BTech degree, who want to learn about EV technology,” he added.

To offer the course, the IIT REP has signed an MoU with Nagpur-based pManifold EV Academy. The academy will also conduct theory and laboratory classes.
