Bengaluru: With IPL confronting inclement weather Saturday night, the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
While rain prevented play for thousands of spectators, who hoped the downpour would subside, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the franchise has addressed refund concerns.
In accordance with their refund policy for matches abandoned without play, RCB announced on Sunday that all valid ticket holders are eligible for full refunds. "As the game between RCB and KKR on 17th May 2025 was abandoned due to inclement weather, all valid ticket holders are eligible for a full refund. Digital ticket holders will be issued a refund within 10 working days to their original account used to book the tickets. In case you do not receive a refund by May 31, send an email to refund@ticketgenie.in with booking details to escalate the matter," the franchise stated.
The announcement included provisions for physical ticket holders as well: "Physical ticket holders are required to surrender their original ticket to the respective official source from where they purchased the tickets, in order to claim refund."
Those who purchased physical tickets but no longer have them are not eligible for refunds. For additional information, ticket holders may email to rcbtickets@ticketgenie.in.
