JMC-H to promote city's culture through one-month long Jaipur Samaroh

Jaipur: The JMC-Heritage administration on Friday started a month-long celebration, Jaipur Samaroh, leading up to Jaipur Foundation Day on Nov 18. During this period, different programmes will be organised daily for a month by JMC-Heritage, where artists from Rajasthan, along with famous artists from across the country, will perform in Jaipur. The programmes will be free of cost for attendees.

Acting mayor Kusum Yadav and cmmissioner Arun Kumar Hasija formally started the programme on Friday by offering prayers at Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple. "This time, many events will be organised as part of the celebrations, promoting Rajasthani customs and culture. City dwellers will be able to see the heritage of Jaipur closely. Rajasthani and Sufi programmes, heritage walks, Kathak dance, and box cricket have also been included in the programme to be held this time," said Yadav.

As part of the programmes, a Qawwali night will be organised on Oct 22 at Badi Chaupar, and a box cricket game will be organised at Jai Club on Oct 26. Sawai Jai Singh Jayanti will be celebrated at Statue Circle on 3rd November, among other activities. Yadav further said that many residents of the city are contributing towards the programmes and even sponsoring some of them.
