According to IANS, Paresh Rawal had already signed the contract, received his signing amount—reportedly higher than his usual fee—and participated in important project meetings. However, his later demand for additional payment reportedly caused him to step away from Hera Pheri 3.

A source close to the production house told the news agency expressed surprise at Paresh Rawal’s behavior, calling it unprofessional and unexpected from an actor of his experience and reputation, especially given their positive past collaborations.

Rawal Denies Creative Differences

Previously, it was said that the actor left the film due to creative differences. However, Rawal recently took to his X handle and clarified, “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan the film director."

Rawal exclusively told ETimes, "The news of my opting out of Hera Pheri 3 is a fact. As of now only this much (I can comment)." When asked if monetary reasons, as speculated on the internet, was the reason behind his exit, he added, "Money was not the issue. The love and respect of my audience is more than any amount of money."

Industry Reacts

Earlier today, reports emerged that Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, has sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal seeking Rs 25 crore in damages following his unexpected departure from the project.

Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty expressed his surprise over Paresh Rawal’s exit, describing it as “shocking.” Speaking to India Today, he said he was unaware of the situation and initially considered reaching out to Rawal directly or meeting him to discuss it. He also mentioned that even Akshay Kumar is in the dark about the reasons behind Rawal’s sudden departure. Shetty called the situation a crisis, highlighting that the film is currently in the middle of production and that Rawal’s exit comes as a major shock.
