Kim Kardashian shows off diamond anklets as Paris robbery trial begins

Kim Kardashian found an interesting way to clap back at the men who robbed her at gunpoint in Paris back in 2016. The trial of the robbery considered as the biggest heist targeting an individual that the city had seen in decades, officially began on Monday with a jury of six citizens and three magistrates presiding over the verdict.

As the courtroom drama began, the reality TV star took to the 'Gram to share photos of herself adorned in diamonds. In a series of new photos from a recent vacation in Maui, Kim showed off her four dazzling diamond-studded anklets. This was one of the rare moments she flaunted her jewells since the 2016 heist that saw the men walk away with jewellery worth over $10 million, including her $4 million engagement ring. given to her by Kanye West. The gangsters stole many pieces of jewelry estimated to be worth $6 million, but, only one piece — a diamond cross on platinum that was lost during the suspects' escape — has been recovered.

According to her testimony and that of the concierge, at least one suspect had a handgun with which he threatened the victims.

Twelve suspects - between 60-70 years of age - were charged, with 10 going on trial on Monday. One died in March this year and another is to be tried separately for health reasons.

In the aftermath of the incident, Kardashian publicly vowed to avoid showcasing expensive jewellery, as it was reported that her social media posts enabled the thieves to accurately locate her and gain access to her valuables.

For years, the reality star largely avoided posting pictures in elaborate diamond pieces, except when posting photos from promotional photoshoots. She also previously showed off her extravagant diamond necklaces, bracelets and rings while attending a wedding in India.
