NEW DELHI: During the first Test between India and New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India captain Rohit Sharma was the subject of a light-hearted moment that has gone viral on social media.
While walking off the field, Rohit received a question regarding his next Indian Premier League ( IPL ) side.
“Bhai, IPL mein kaun sa team?” the fan shouted, asking Rohit which IPL team he’d prefer next. Rohit responded, “Where do you want?”
Without missing a beat, the fan replied, “Bhai, RCB mein ajao yaar (come to RCB, brother).”

Hearing this, Rohit didn't reply to the plea and continued walking towards the pavilion, avoiding any further interaction.
While Rohit has had a successful stint with Mumbai Indians (MI), leading them to five IPL titles, it would be interesting to see what the future holds for the right-handed star batter at the Mumbai-based IPL side.
The playful plea from the RCB supporter, however, highlights how deeply IPL rivalries run and how fans hope for game-changing transfers.
In the match itself, Rohit bounced back from a poor first innings with a solid 52 in India’s second innings, helping lay a 72-run foundation with fellow opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (32).
The hosts have staged a remarkable recovery by erasing New Zealand's mammoth 356-run lead, bringing the team back in contention for a victory.
