Cade Cunningham put on a show Thursday night, leading the Detroit Pistons to a 115-106 comeback win over the New York Knicks at Little Caesars Arena. Cunningham added a game-high 36 points against Karl-Anthony Towns , Jalen Brunson , and company, propelling the Pistons to a much-needed victory. Cunningham has been showing his best of abilities on the court in his recent games, and his team’s latest victory puts the standout piston stars in the category of rising elite NBA stars.

Cade Cunningham delivered a monster performance, carrying his squad with 36 points on an ultra-efficient 16-of-24 shooting. Whether he was slicing into the paint or pulling up from midrange, Cade looked in total control of the game’s pace. He also knocked down 2-of-5 from deep and chipped in 8 assists, showing once again why he’s the engine of the offense. Despite committing 4 turnovers and picking up 5 fouls, his positive influence still shone through with a +9 on the night.
Jalen Duren was perfect from the field (9-of-9) en route to 18 points and 13 boards, while Tobias Harris contributed 17 points and continued his reliable two-way presence. Ron Holland II also showed flashes of potential with 13 points in just over 21 minutes, providing a nice spark off the bench.
However, a handful of players were marked DNP (Did Not Play), and their absence naturally shifted more minutes onto the active rotation:

On the other side, Karl-Anthony Towns and Precious Achiuwa turned in strong two-way performances. However, he also turned the ball over 7 times, a number that certainly didn't help their chances late in the game. Achiuwa matched him on the boards with 10 of his own and added 18 points, plus 3 blocks, showing grit on both ends during his nearly 40 minutes on the floor.
Mikal Bridges was efficient as always, scoring 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and handing out 7 assists. Jalen Brunson and Miles McBride both struggled with efficiency, combining to go just 10-of-33 from the field. Brunson found some rhythm from three (3-of-9) and added 5 assists, but his overall impact fell short of his usual standard.

Off the bench, Landry Shamet scored 9 points in just 15 minutes on 75% shooting, including a couple of triples. Cameron Payne chipped in 7 points and 2 assists, but the second unit couldn’t do quite enough to close the gap.
