NEW DELHI: A Congress panel is looking into the charges about EVM batteries in the recently concluded Haryana assembly elections, and will submit a technical assessment report for the party to follow-up with the Election Commission .
Sources said three key Congress members are speaking to candidates who have made the allegations, and also looking at various data points to dig deeper into the issue. A party source said the subject of EVMs has acquired fresh urgency since assembly elections have now been announced for Maharashtra and Jharkhand, and the opposition wants to take precautions against the alleged malfeasance in the coming polls.
