NEW DELHI: A video of external affairs minister S Jaishankar apologising to the nation circulating online is false, Press Information Bureau informed on Saturday.
Cautioning the netizens against " false propaganda ", PIB said that the video was AI-generated.
"A doctored video showing EAM @DrSJaishankar apologizing is circulating online. The video is AI-generated and part of false propaganda. Stay alert. Don't fall for misinformation," it said.
Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, PIB's fact-checking unit has refuted several misleading claims circulated by Pakistani social media accounts.
In another clarification, PIB dismissed rumors that the Bathinda airfield had been destroyed in a Pakistani attack, confirming that the airfield remains undamaged and is fully operational.
"Posts are being artificially spread, claiming that the Bhatinda Airfield has been destroyed! Posts are being artificially spread, claiming that the Bhatinda Airfield has been destroyed!. The Bathinda Airfield is fully operational and there is no damage whatsoever. Don't fall for misinformation. Stay informed, stay alert", the post said.
In the wake of India’s targeted missile strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as part of Operation Sindoor, the Pakistani side has intensified a misinformation campaign against India. The disinformation push comes amid heightened cross-border tensions and appears aimed at countering the impact of India's successful counterterror operations .
